Psy4Queer is one of the projects by LGBT World Beside. We provide psychological help free of charge for the LGBTQIA refugees from Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia.

Psy4Queer can guarantee several free sessions for every applicant. At the moment we are also developing a hotline for refugees in need of urgent psychological help.

LGBTQIA refugees in the Netherlands often face difficulties that can cause mental health problems or accelerate preexisting conditions. Both various bureaucratic adversities and hostility occurring in the asylum seekers centers cause mental health problems and can lead to anxiety, stress, isolation, loneliness and traumatic experiences.

Psy4Queer operates to help the refugees handle these conditions and stay in good mental health during the adaptation and integration in the new country. The project team consists of both psychologists and volunteers who work to support the refugees’ well-being and provide comprehensive support.
